This is bad news. With Olynyk already battling an injury, the last thing we needed was to lose another big man, and essentially the Celtics best player. We saw on Friday what a dominant big man can do to the Celtics and without Sullinger for the rest of the year, the Celtics are in trouble. Tyler Zeller is a solid player, but he can’t do it all himself, so let’s hope at least Olynyk comes back soon. That Tayshaun Prince deal looks a lot more important right now, as Jonas Jerebko now becomes part of the Celtics frontcourt rotation. Here’s the announcement from the Celtics:
The Boston Celtics announced today that, following further medical evaluation at the New England Baptist Hospital, it was determined that forward Jared Sullinger has sustained a left metatarsal stress fracture and will be out for the remainder of the 2014-15 regular season.
