Celtics rookie James Young put on his best Klay Thompson impression last nite in Portland for the Red Claws. Young drilled a league record 9 three pointers in the Red Claws 109-104 loss to the the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Saturday night.
Young completed 9 of 13 threes and 12 of 20 overall on his way to a game-high 33 points in 43 minutes of play.
Celtics fans have been hoping to see more of Young, who was the Celtics 17th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft. It didn’t take too long for the Celtics to call up Young, as he’s back in Boston Sunday to take on the Heat.
Young has appeared in just 12 games for Boston this season, averaging 2.8 points.
