Schedule 2010: What We Should Get Excited For
- Updated: August 10, 2010
Yes the day is finally here!!! the regular season schedule is finally out and I can not wait for this new look or old look Celtics team to get started and make another run at Banner 18. Some people will say that the regular season does not mean anything and all that matter is the playoffs. I have heard that the regular season for the Celtics is just an 82 game preseason. But ray Allen once said back in before the 2008 season that he wants to enjoy the ride before the playoffs begin. So for those of you non diehard Celtics fans who do not care about the regular season I hope after reading this I can change your mind and you will be looking forward to some regular season matchups. In all reality the regular season is important because in order for the Celtics to get a good seed in the playoffs and maybe even home court advantage in the Eastern Confrence and the NBA Finals they have to perform in the so called “82 game preseason”. Now I know it is hard to watch all 82 games and some games may be boring then others but I will take a look at some key games they people may want to tune in and watch.
-OPENING NIGHT, October 26th Vs Miami. Why wouldn’t you want to tune in you get to see Shaq in Green for the first time and Lebron play in his first regular season game as a member of the Heat as the new big three will take on the old big three for the first time.
-REMATCH, Januray 30th at LA Lakers. Back to where it all ended last season in the NBA finals game 7, as it will be the first meeting of two between these 2 rivals. Shaq v Kobe
-CHRISTMAS DAY, December 25th at Orlando. Rematch from last years ECF and last years Christmas day game.
-REMATCH AGAIN,FEBRUARY 10th vs LA LAKERS. They come to our house and less than 2 weeks after we play them in LA.
-BULLS COMES TO TOWN,November 5th vs Chicago. Our first look at a team that we could easily face in the firt or second round of the playoffs. With the addition of Carlos Boozer and D Rose with another year under his belt this will be a nice early test for the Celts.
-HAWKS IN HOTLANTA,November 22nd at Atlanta. We have struggled with the young flying Hawks in the past 3 years especially at Phillips Areana so like the Bulls this is a team will will most likely see in the playoffs.
-FIRST WEST COAST TRIP, Jan. 27th-Feb.1st at Portland, Phoenix, LA Lakers, Sacramento. I love west coast trips and this is the first of two as this trip includes tough games. The first three games including the Lakers will be tough I would be happy with a 2-2 record after this 4 game trip and at best a 3-1 record stealing one in LA or Phoneix.
-SECOND WEST COAST TRIP,Feb. 22nd-Feb. 28th at Golden State, Denver, LA Clippers, Utah. A month later we are back out on our Second west coast swing and this trip is more scary then the first because Denver and Utah both tough places to play and the Clippers will be better this season and we always have trouble at Arco Arena playing a scrappy young Golden State team.
-WITHOUT THE KING, October 27th vs Cleveland. Come on I had to put this game in here, how much do we win by 30-40 points?????
-FIRST LOOK AT THE #1 PICK- November 17th vs Washington. We get our first look at the number 1 pick is this past years draft John Wall and get to see the first of a great battle for years to come between Rondo and Wall.
TIDBITS- No Texas Triangle this year, Six Game homestand in January, Get to see the new look Knicks for the first time at home on October 29th.
